Thirty years ago, a young, high school age Antonio joined my math class at Pebblebrook High School. He was memorable among all my students as a positive, outgoing, cheerful young man, every time I saw him. Other than his outgoing personality, he never drew attention to himself through any misbehavior or failure to keep up his studies in my class. While he was my student, we had a conversation that stands out in my mind over the years. He and I were chatting before class one day, and he said to me, " Ms. Chisholm, I am going to be a rap singer, a Christian one. Just give me about ten years and you will see that I will do this". I told him that this was great, to let me know when and where he was performing and that I would be there. Unlike many students his age, he had a big dream for his future. And he worked until his last day to make it come true. He was making it happen! We all wish that he had been able to live out his dream for a bit longer. We wish he could have had more time with his daughters, his family, friends, and loved ones, but it was God's will to take him when He did. Antonio leaves many good memories for everyone who knew him, especially his love of the last ten years, Donna. Donna is my daughter. She, and I, along with all those who knew him, will remember him always.
