Antonio's obituary
Antonio Denisiuk, a devoted family man, skilled jeweler, passionate soccer coach, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024 at the age of 76. Born on May 13, 1948, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, to Nadia and Stefan Denisiuk, Antonio’s journey was marked by love, dedication, and an unwavering faith that guided him throughout his life.
In 1965, at the age of 17, Antonio immigrated to the United States, seeking new opportunities and a brighter future. Shortly after his arrival, he began his career at Jabel Inc. as an apprentice jeweler. Through hard work and determination, he rose to the position of Jeweler Manager, a role he held with pride until his retirement in 2011. Beyond his professional achievements, Antonio was the “go-to guy” for engagement rings among friends and family through his business, Prestige, crafting symbols of love that would be cherished for generations.
Antonio’s personal life was equally fulfilling. He met the love of his life, Cathylina, in 1966, and they were married on May 7, 1972—a testament to his belief in the significance of love and commitment. Their union was blessed with two children, Natalie and Mark, and later, three adored grandchildren: Avery, Eliza, and Benjamin. Known for spoiling his grandchildren with love, chocolate, soccer tips, and money, Antonio’s generosity and playful spirit left an indelible mark on their hearts.
Soccer was Antonio’s lifelong passion. He dedicated many years to coaching in the Chester town leagues and was instrumental in starting a club team for boys in NJ, sharing his love for the sport and mentoring young athletes. His enthusiasm for soccer was infectious.
In 2011, following his retirement, Antonio and Cathylina relocated to South Carolina, embracing a new chapter in their lives. Despite the move, his love for Brazil remained steadfast, and he cherished the cultures of both his birth and adopted countries. A man of deep faith, Antonio’s devotion to God provided him with strength during life’s trials and tribulations, and he remained unwavering in his beliefs until the very end.
Antonio was predeceased by his parents, Nadia and Stefan; his brother, Vitor; and his beloved son, Mark. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Cathylina; his daughter, Natalie, and son-in-law, Tim; daughter-in-law, Lauren; brother Sergio, and his cherished grandchildren, Avery, Eliza, and Benjamin.
Antonio’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. He had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him, often through his love of jokes and his warm, welcoming nature. He made friends wherever he went. His life was a testament to the values he held dear: love for God, family, food, soccer, fellowship, and both America and Brazil. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate Antonio’s life will be held on February 8th @ 11:30am at the Barefoot Resort and Golf Club 4980 Barefoot Resort Bridge Rd. North Myrtle Beach, SC,29582
