Tony's obituary
We mourn the loss of a devoted husband, loving father, gentle grandfather, brother and uncle, Antonio "Tony" Alhambra, who passed away on May 15, 2024, in Edina, Minnesota. Tony was born on May 2, 1950, and his vibrant personality touched all who knew him. Tony was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marabella A. Alhambra, whose memory remained close to his heart.
Tony is survived by his devoted children, Lori (Timothy) Fowler, Lyra (Ryan) Repplinger, and Leandro (Roanne). He was a doting grandfather to Scott, Rayven, and Gabriel Repplinger, Abigail, Joshua, Thomas, and Olivia Fowler and Everette, Liam, and Emmy Alhambra. He is also survived by his siblings Reynaldo (Eleanor) Alhambra, Benedicto (Josephine) Alhambra, Mario (Glenda) Alhambra, Rowena (Aqualino) Nicer, Art (Mary Ann) Alhambra, and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Each holds cherished memories of Tony's warmth, jovial spirit, and the love he held for his family.
Known for his fun-loving nature, Tony's presence was always marked with laughter. He took great pride singing in the choirs of the Greater Rockford Area Filipino American Catholic Community and Holy Name Cathedral, where he contributed his time and effort with love and passion.
Tony's jovial personality was reflected in his love for The Beatles' music, the game of Mahjong, and cooking delicious meals for his friends and family. He found joy in singing and playing guitar and had a knack for making anyone around him tap their feet to his tunes. He was an avid golfer and introduced the game to a number of family members and friends.
A memorial service with a luncheon to follow to honor Tony will be held on August 10, 2024, at 10:30 at Holy Family Catholic Church - 4401 Highcrest Road, Rockford Illinois. We invite family, friends, and anyone whose lives were touched by Tony's warmth to join us in paying a final tribute to this irreplaceable soul. He will forever be missed but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
