Anthony C. “Tony” Walls, age 70 of Carrollton, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at his residence. He was born January 20, 1953 in Wood River, the son of Clyde “Woody” and Wanda Gray Walls.  Tony was formerly married to  Paula (Stracke) Watson,  Crystal (Presley) DeVerger, and Charlotte (Carter) Hellemeyer.

He is survived by three children: a daughter, Salina (Steve) Porter of Pekin, IL,  a son, Ian Walls of Counce, TN, and Rebecca (Mike) Snyder of Carrollton, IL, and is also survived by  a sister, Brenda (Larry) Mathis of Hettick, IL, two step daughters, Jamie (Alex) Gross and Jennifer Roberts, and two step sons, Josh and Jeremy Palmer, eleven  grandchildren, a great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Bettina (Tina) Jewel Mathis-Jennings.

Tony had a passion for music and loved playing  guitar and had played with several bands over the years including the Amazon River Boys. He enjoyed spending time with his family and passing along his love for music. Tony also loved fishing, camping, photography, and hunting.

A Celebration of Life will be held  on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the SJMBC Celebration 2 Center in Alton, Illinois. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton in assisting the family.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the American Heart Association in honor of the deceased.  Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
