Anthony (Tony)'s obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony (Tony) Hubbard Sr., a beacon of strength, humor, dedication, and love, who left this world on October 22, 2025. Born on September 13, 1958, in Savannah, Georgia, Tony spent the first half of his life in the Lowcountry before planting deep roots with his family and community. He filled his 67 years with laughter and compassion while demonstrating an exceptional work ethic and a deep commitment to his beloved family.
Tony was known for his robust personality, a delightful blend of strength and humor. He was a hardworking man who never stepped back from any challenge. His caring nature made him a pillar of support for many, creating an impact that will keep his memory alive in every heart he touched.
His love for his family was incomparable, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. Tony’s eyes would light up with mischief and joy as he planned pranks to surprise his loved ones, filling their lives with laughter and warmth. Beyond his love for family and fun, Tony was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, with a passion for fishing and hunting that he eagerly shared with everyone around him.
Anthony (Tony) Hubbard Sr. is survived by his beloved wife, Janine Hubbard, and a large, loving family that includes his mother, Barbara Hubbard, and his father, Wallace Hubbard. His legacy will be carried on by his sons, Anthony Hubbard Jr. and Daniel Hubbard, and his daughter, Meagan Hubbard.
His daughters-in-law, Hannah Hubbard and Nicki Hubbard, held special places in his heart, as did his granddaughters — Chelsey, Hailey, Kyleigh, and Savannah Hubbard — and his grandsons — Peyton, Noah, and Cooper Hubbard, and Chance Hutto. Tony’s sibling, Red Driver, and his brother-in-law, Rick Driver, will also deeply feel his absence.
He is also survived by his loving niece, Barbie (Josh) Garcia, and their son — Tony’s grandnephew — Benson Garcia.
Anthony (Tony) Hubbard Sr. lived a life that was a true testament to the power of love, humor, and hard work. His memory, love, and laughter will continue to echo in our hearts and lives. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit surely lives on within each of us who were fortunate to know and love him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 9th at 1PM at The Cotton Press in Little Mountain SC.
