Anthony's obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anthony Ray, a man of warmth, love, and boundless care. Born on April 21, 1958, Anthony lived a life full of joy and laughter until his peaceful departure on June 29, 2023.

Anthony leaves behind his beloved wife, Margory Ray, who shared his life since their marriage in 1989. They spent many years basking in the melodies of The Beatles, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton. Together, they enjoyed the goofiness of America's Funniest Home Videos, the suspense of Wheel of Fortune, and the talent displayed on America's Got Talent.

Lovingly remembered by his children, Kristen, Keith, Daniel, and Michael Ray, and Sean McDonald, Anthony found his greatest pride not in his considerable professional accomplishments as a self-taught computer programmer, but in being a devoted father. He also held a special place in his heart for his siblings - Marty Ray, Bobby Bess, Teresa Titcomb, Vickie Burton, Gina Hunter, and Sheila Partch. His father, Eugene Ray, also survives him.

Anthony's sunny personality mirrored his favorite color, yellow. His love for biscuits and gravy, over-easy eggs, and a cold Coke was second only to his love for his family. His go-to solace was the captivating worlds of Stephen King and the simple joy of playing Solitaire or Craps.

Anthony was also blessed to be a grandfather. The birth of each grandchild in 2007, 2010, 2012, and 2013 added limitless joy to his life. Nothing gave Anthony more pleasure than watching his grandchildren perform, whether it was at the Denver Zoo, the Museum of Nature and Science, or just at home.

As a dedicated attendee at Summit Church, Anthony always held the lessons of 'reaping what you sow' and 'doing unto others as you want done for yourself' close to heart. His favorite vacation spots included Florida, Hawaii, California, and Ohio, with Cracker Barrel and the Aquarium being local favorites in Denver.

A Celebration of Life for Anthony will be held on July 19, 2023, at 5:00 PM at 7200 S Clinton St. It is an occasion for all to remember and celebrate Anthony’s life, reflecting upon his love for his family, his achievements and his warm, enriching presence that will be sorely missed.

To those who knew him, Anthony's loving, caring, funny, goofy, and nerdy personality made him uniquely special. We take comfort in knowing he lived his life fully, radiating kindness every step of the way. His legacy lives on in his cherished loved ones and the countless lives he touched. Rest in peace, Anthony.
