Anthony's obituary

Anthony Pereira, age 92, a lifelong resident of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was the devoted husband of the late Eileen Pereira.

Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Antonio and Maria Pereira.

Anthony, fondly known as Chico, received his education in the Lowell school system and was a graduate of Lowell High School. He worked in construction and at Courier Citizen. Before his retirement, he worked for many years at Airco/BOC Gases.

Anthony was an excellent Scrabble player. He enjoyed horse racing, playing the lottery and Keno, going out to eat, playing games, spending time with family, and complaining about the prices of everything. He was very funny and had great stories about his youth. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him was charmed by him. He was also a hard worker and a great caregiver.

Anthony is survived by his daughter Lisa MacMillan and her husband Douglas of Salem, NH; his daughter Gina Pereira of Deltona, FL; his daughter Lori Philpot and her husband Robert of Lowell; his daughter Niki Pereira of Lowell; his granddaughter Lily Philpot of Lowell; his grandson Anthony Beaudoin of Lowell; his sister Mary Dugas of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was the brother of the late Alda Betley, the late Augustina Tremblay, the late John Pereira, and the late Joseph (Jose) Pereira.

A celebration of life will be held with family at a later date.
