Anthony Dale Mead, aka Tony, born to Delcy Burgess and David Mead on November 8, 1961, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Tony went to play baseball with the greats in heaven, on July 20, 2022, at 10:56 am.

Growing up in Oklahoma, Tony played baseball throughout his school years. He enjoyed “running amok” and living life to the fullest. Later in life, Tony married Rose Peters Mead and they moved to Missouri, where they resided for 38 years. During this time, they raised three children, Vanessa, 43, of Troy, Missouri, Shaun, 41, of Omaha, Nebraska and Shannon, 33, of California, Missouri. He also had 10 grandchildren whom he adored.

Tony had many names throughout his life; Dad, Tony and Pretty Boy but his favorite was Papa.

He enjoyed many things in life like spending his free time in the woods hunting, on the water fishing or catching a Cardinals game (he never missed a game).

Tony was preceded in death by his father, David Mead, step-father, Sonny Burgess, sister, Leslie Gail, brother, Steve and his nephew, Travis.

He is survived by his children; Vanessa (Mark) Cavin of Troy, Missouri, Shaun of Omaha, Nebraska, Shannon (Cody) Langlotz of California, Missouri, his grandchildren; Katlyn, Mackinze, Kiersten, Keara, Trevon, Connor, Sienna, Morgan, Ailani and Anastasiya, his beautiful mother, Delcy and his many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews
