Anthony " Tony" Peter Massita Jr

June 5 1947 -July 31 2022

Passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Somers CT on July 31, 2022.

Anthony grew up in the Hartford and Windsor Locks area and served in the Vietnam war. He was employed by UTC, Hamilton Sunstrand in Windsor Locks for many years until the late 90's.

Anthony is survived by his wife Vallory Massita of Somers. Son  Steven, daughters  Wendy and Dawn and thier husbands.  Five living grandchildren: Nathan, Willow, Tabitha, Samantha, Rebecca and is predeceased by his beloved grandson Andrew.

Anthony enjoyed many adventurous hobbies throughout his life, such as motorcycle riding, camping, boating, hunting , fishing / lobstering and loved being out on the ocean.  He was best known for being the " fix it " man. He could fix or " McGuyver" anything.

 Cooking was another highlight of  Tony's. Throughout the last 20 years he  found joy in baking, especially with his grandchildren!  Anthony or "Pop,Poppy, and Poppycorn," as the grandkids referred to him, loved sharing his recipes, while making, Pizzelle's, Easter bread, pizza dough, bread, cookies and cakes. On birthdays or special occasions he was always found making the grandkids and guests happy with his love of making his famous" Candyman creations" of  popcorn, cotton candy and homemade caramel! 

Anthony loved spending time with the grandchildren. The greatest joy came from being with them and he always looked forward to spending time with them.

Anthony will forever be in our hearts.
