Tony's obituary

Anthony Steven "Tony" Lesica

April 27, 1963 - September 15, 2022

Anthony Steven "Tony" Lesica, 59, of Danbury, passed away on September 15, 2022, surrounded by his family. Tony's compassion and wit will be missed by many.

Born in Manhattan, and raised in Bayside, New York, Tony attended St. Francis Preparatory School and spent summers visiting Croatia, where his parents immigrated from. After graduating from St. Francis College in 1987, he became a dedicated business owner and licensed pilot. He worked as a financial planner at Ameriprise Financial for over 30 years, where he attributed his success to treating clients like family. He loved his career, specifically for the people he met and the life-long friendships he developed.

Tony enjoyed spending time with his family in his favorite place, Bethany Beach, Delaware. He was a sports enthusiast and a devoted fan of the Seattle Seahawks, New York Mets and New York Rangers. He had a talent for bodybuilding, with success in numerous competitions for over a decade, and a passion for chess, motorcycle rides and giving back to others. Tony volunteered at St. Joseph's School in Danbury, advocated for KidneyCan, a kidney cancer research nonprofit, and donated his financial planning expertise to families with cancer.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Jennine Lesica. Survivors also include his children, Jacquelyn Lesica, John Lesica and Stacy Lesica; his mother, Lucy Lesica; his sister, Nancy Kapps; and brother-in-law, William Kapps.
