Anthony's obituary
ANTHONY FARAZAKIS (GIORDANO) age 80, passed away peacefully at Brunswick Pointe in Brunswick, Ohio on October 06, 2023. Dearest father of Sally Lemmo (Chris), Mary Jacobs (David Sheck), Angelo “Tony” Farazakis; loving grandfather-of Anna Zarlinga (Brock), Peyton Lemmo, Megan Lemmo, Caleb Lemmo and Jackson Sheck. Dearest brother to Caroline Biadis (Jim Biadis) Alex Paris (Tom Paris), Manuel Molakakis (Marian Molakakis) His parents were father Angelo FARAZAKIS and mother Mary Merambeliotakis both who came to America at a young age.
Anthony “Tony” was born in Cleveland, OH growing up on West 17th and graduated high school from West Tech in 1962 where he played Football Tailback through his senior year. He went to College at Cleveland State University and graduate with Bachelors in Accounting. He went on to work for Manfredi auto as an accountant for several years until he got a position with Federal wholesale and moved his family to Boardman, Ohio and work his way up as Vice President.
He married Lucille Farazakis September 19, 1970. Although they divorced over thirty years later, they remained the best of friends and continued to raise their children together. They lived in Boardman, OH for nearly 20 years creating beautiful memories and friendships along the way.
Tony was the President of the parish council at St John’s Greek Orthodox Church for several years and he started the Glendi there which is still held yearly. He was quite proud of this accomplishment. Tony later in life would leave accounting to work with the elderly. He got certified to become a nursing home administrator while working as a full time activities director at Sumner on Merriman. He loved working with the elderly and all the many fun activities he would do with them. He got certified to drive a bus to take them on big trips around the area and loved doing this.
Tony was proud to be Greek and loved his Greek family. In 2007, Tony wrote an autographical story of his Greek roots to be passed on for future generations. It is called, “One Person’s Recollections of Our Family’s Story” By Anthony Farazakis.
He loved sharing his Faith with others. He was a member of Redemption Center Church. He regularly attended the group Echo where he developed many meaningful relationships and connections.
He lived his life humbly, forgiving others and walking in the Lords love no matter the circumstance. He loved to Sing and stayed active in the community. He was involved in his church choir at St John’s Greek Orthodox Church and Selrec singers and Barton Singers for many years where he performed local musical theater. Additionally, he was involved in Toastmasters giving speeches til about age 78.
Tony is at peace with the Lord and although we miss him terribly we know he is singing the Lords Prayer by Mario Lanza in Heaven his very favorite song.
Let’s remember Tony as one of God’s special ones. We believe good Lord met him with those special words we all want hear. Well done good and faithful servant I am well pleased.
