Anthony's obituary

Anthony Cardoza, a name many knew for many reasons, whether it was his successful athletic career, hard work in Southern California Edison, being a loving father, or his all-in attitude as a Sierra Chieftain sports supporter! He always put a smile on everyone’s face.

Anthony Edward Cardoza (Antone, Tony) passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024, at the age of 78 after fighting complications from surgery for roughly 2 ½ months. Anthony was born on June 29, 1946, to Billie Pearl Singletary Cardoza and Tony Clarence Cardoza in Hanford, CA. Anthony was the 3rd of 8 children. He quickly excelled at athletics through his years, earning several league championships, and a Valley Championship in high school. His continued to play at College of the Sequoias where he was unstoppable! In 1967 Anthony and Judy welcomed their first child/daughter Aimee, and in 1970 their son Scott. Anthony has 4 granddaughters, Kayla, Kendall, Peyton and Lily.

Anthony never gave up his love for sports, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren compete and accomplish high achievements over the years. He was always in the gym at Sierra, and even attended road games. He became known as “Grandpa Cardoza” to many athletes in the Sierra Unified programs.

Anthony is survived by his children, Aimee & Jeff Sa, Scott & Ginger Cardoza, and his grandchildren, Kendall & Evan Sagariballa, Kayla & Nick Davis, Peyton Sa and Lily Cardoza, along with his first great grandson, baby Sagariballa!

He will be greatly missed, his family knows that he is resting peacefully in heaven watching over them all, his love will continue to be shared, and his legacy will live on in our hearts forever.
