Dr. Annie Sze, age 42, of Parsippany NJ, passed away at home the morning of August 16, 2024 after a short, but courageous, 4-month battle with endometrial cancer.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents and her beloved dog Runner.

Annie is survived by her husband, two sisters, and her parents.

Annie was born in Manhattan Chinatown and then grew up in Howell, NJ. Growing up, Annie was dedicated to supporting the family restaurant, working every night after school and every weekend during her youth. As the eldest, she shouldered the most responsibilities and watched over her two younger sisters.

Annie graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Rutgers University in 2006 and dedicated herself as a staff pharmacist at Hackensack University Medical Center for 17 years. Annie lived her life the best she knew, dedicated to her career, faithful dog Runner, and her long time fiance and husband David. Annie always looked forward to vacations and trying new food. The pair traveled and ate their way across the world during their 16 years together.

While quiet, Annie was introspective and creative, and loved working out and exploring new hobbies, including drawing and painting, creative writing, playing guitar and piano, performing improv comedy, and even Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

In January 2024, Annie and Runner made the move to join her partner David in Hawaii; she had a short but beautiful time in the Aloha state. Annie spent her final weeks of life residing with her parents in Queens, NY spending time with her family.

While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. Annie will always be remembered for her tenacity and unending selfless kindness to others.

Viewing hours and a funeral service for Dr. Annie Sze will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024 between 3 and 6 PM at Boe Fook Funeral Services, LLC in New York, NY. A final viewing will take place on Monday, August 26 between 9 and 10:30 AM, followed by the procession to Washington Cemetery in Washington, NJ. The estimated time of arrival to the cemetery is 12:00 PM on Monday, August 26, 2024.
