Annie's obituary
Anecita Villasis Eddy, 73, of Centreville, Virginia, passed away November 30, 2022, in Carlsbad, California of complications related to Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMO). Anecita (Annie), beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, was born to Teodorico Villasis and Remedios Berdin on December 17, 1948, in Miagao, Philippines. She graduated from Miagao National High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Saint Augustine, Iloilo, Western Visaya in 1969. In 1976 she married Richard W. Eddy Jr. in Subic Bay, Philippine Islands.
She served as a teacher in the Philippines until she relocated to the US in 1977, and held many professional positions at the Navy Federal Credit Union in Virginia until 1999. She also served as an ordained wedding minister in northern Virginia. She retired from Navy Federal Credit Union in 1999 and started a successful rental property business, which she managed from 2000 until 2020.
Annie brought joy and laughter to everyone she met. She loved dancing, gardening and planting flowers, cooking meals for her family, Christmas lights, and hosting holiday dinners. Her home was always the brightest on the block during the holidays and the most colorful in the spring and summer. Her cooking of traditional Filipino cuisine including lumpia, pancit, mongo, and sinigang brought joy and community to social gatherings and family events throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Valerie G. Katircioglu of Encinitas, CA and her son, Richard W. Eddy III of New York, NY; a grandson, Kai S. Katircioglu of Encinitas, CA; sisters, Rebecca Villasis of Olongapo City and Rose Dominiguez of Jacksonville, FL.
Private wake services were held on December 11, 2022 at Allen Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel in San Marcos, CA. Funeral services and burial will be on May 31, 2023 at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
