Annette's obituary

A celebration of life service for Mrs. Annette Smith who was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday November 29th, 2025, will be held on Saturday, December 13th, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Cathedral, 3401 Bishop Eddie Newkirk Way (3401 E. 25th Ave) Tampa, FL 33605, Senior Pastor Dwight Newkirk with Rev. Dr. Willie Richardson of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Officiating. There will be a viewing Friday, December 12th, 2025, from 3-7 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home. 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida 33605. Mrs. Annette Smith was born on May 27, 1962, in Tampa, Florida to the parentage of Acie and Betty Jones. She attended the public schools of Hillsborough County where she graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1980. She later attended University of South Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984 in Criminal Justice. She was a devoted member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Thonotosassa, Fl. During this time, she met the love of her life Ronald Smith who preceded her in death after 36 and counting years in marriage. A dedicated hardworking woman Annette worked for Anheuser Busch parks for 38 years, USPS, and Publix supermarket for many years. Her presence, leadership, and kind spirit impacted everyone she encountered. Annette was the heart and glue of her family known for her weekly trips to Sams Club to restock the kitchen at church and home. She helped anyone that asked without a second thought. Annette found beauty in life’s simple pleasures, family dinners, spontaneous adventures, and the comfort of home filled with love. She took immense pride in her children and grandchildren, cherishing each milestone and memory they created together. Her love knew no bounds and will continue to guide those she leaves behind. Annette was preceded in death by her loving parents, Acie and Betty Jones; her husband, Ronald Smith; her grandmother, Etta Mae Eberhart; mother-in-law, Thelma Blount; uncle, Leroy Howard; nieces, Tamika Jones, Shenell Cooper and cousin, Amari Williams. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, compassion and unwavering love. She is survived by her two lovely daughters, Roniqua and Tiffany Smith; two energetic grandchildren, Kaiyden Williams and Hailee Smith; a loving brother, Darryl Jones Sr (Mae); aunts, Ella Davenport, Katrina Cooper (George) and Brenda Young (John); sisters-in-law, Barbara Blount, Patricia Cooper, Carol Cooper and Arlene Cooper; brother-in-law, Edward Cooper; nieces and nephews, Samantha Jones, Minque Bethea, Darryl Jones Jr, Tyrell Cooper, Shannon Cooper, Adrienne Ross (Jamieson), Warren Ellis (Amanda), Marlene Ellis, Anthony Jarrett, Edward Cooper Jr., Cherjuana O’Neal, Kimberly Smith (Chris), Ruben Cooper (Shatell), Eugene Howard, Leroy Howard (Kira); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends from various cities. Though we say goodbye, we will carry Annette’s spirit, her laughter, compassion, and love within us always. Her light lives on in every act of kindness and every moment of joy shared among those she loved most.
