Annette's obituary
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Annette Marie Eckerman, a devoted Christian woman whose faith, kindness, and joyful spirit touched all who knew her.
Annette grew up in Pomona, where she graduated from Pomona High School. She went on to dedicate 25 years of her life to education, shaping young minds with patience, wisdom, and care.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Annette was an active and beloved member of Mountainview Faith Community Church. She faithfully served in ministries such as Young at Heart, Faith Builders, and as one of the elders, always giving her time and heart to uplift others. Guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ, she lived a life of service, compassion, and grace.
In 1989, Annette married the love of her life, Donald Eckerman. Together they built a life centered on faith and family. Annette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Eckerman; her mother, Thelma Motts; and her father, Art Hugues. She passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord, surrounded by her loved ones.
She is survived by her loving children, Michael (Danielle) and Sheryl (Orin); her stepchildren, Kim (Chris), Keith, and Kevin (Nancy); her brother, Rob (the late Deb); her sisters, Sharon (Nick) and Michelle (Craig); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Annette was a proud and devoted grandmother to Cole (Chelsea), Janelle (Joseph), Austin (Regan), Jasmine and Orin Jr. and a cherished great-grandmother to Kaden, Caius, Kyro, Caige, Renley, Darryle, Devyn, Cierra, Kailah, Xaden, Xenith, and Xakai. She was also a loving step-grandmother to Kory, Kyle, Jacob, Sarah, Jenni, and Josh. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, surrounding them with love, laughter, and faith.
Annette had a vibrant and joyful spirit. She loved dancing, bowling, playing games, cards and attending family gatherings filled with warmth and laughter. She also enjoyed her favorite television shows, including Touched by an Angel, Perry Mason, and Murder She Wrote.
Annette’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, selfless love, and joyful service. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her steadfast devotion to God, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and generosity. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace in the presence of the Lord.
