In Loving Memory of Anne Sanchez
May 27, 1947 – May 28, 2025
Anne Sanchez (born Anh Huynh), a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and matriarch, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, one day after celebrating her 78th birthday. Born on May 27, 1947, in Saigon, Vietnam, Anne lived a life marked by courage, resilience, and a deep, unwavering devotion to family.
In the aftermath of the Vietnam War, Anne made the bold and selfless decision to bring her nine younger siblings to the United States in search of a better life. Alongside her devoted husband, Jose (“Landy”) Sanchez, she raised not only their three children, but also took full responsibility for her siblings, raising them as her own. Her home was one of strength, compassion, laughter, and amazing home cooked food.
At her core, Anne was defined by unwavering hope and optimism, the very foundation that propelled her forward and uplifted everyone she loved. Her legacy is one of profound impact, born from these enduring qualities. Through her sacrifices and steadfast support, she gave her siblings and their children the opportunity to build lives filled with possibility, lives that now extend across America and around the world. Her influence, her values, and her love continue to shape generations.
Anne is survived by her daughter Maria (m. Oliver Zelies), and her sons John (m. Susan Fox-Sanchez) and Robert, and her grandchildren, Catcher, Isabella, Peyton, and Oliver, who will carry her memory and her light into the future.
Anne is now reunited with her beloved husband, Landy, in heaven, where their eternal love continues to shine.
