Some people are destined to walk this earth for a short time, but while their departure breaks our hearts, it also reminds us we now have another angel to watch and guide us on in life.

Our angel is our mother, Anne E Hammer (née Brugato), who died quietly in the early morning hours on July 28, 2020. She was preceded in death by our amazing father, John F Hammer on January 1, 2017, after 50 years of marriage. She was and will always be a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend to many.

Our mother loved to travel, and dad’s job allowed this to happen. We moved from SE Portland to the Middle East (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) traveling to every nook, cranny, and beyond. Our last trip with mom was in August 2019 to Vancouver, British Columbia where we boarded the Disney Wonder for a cruise throughout Alaska.

We miss our mom terribly, but it brings us peace to know she has been reunited with the love of her life, our father John. She is survived by her daughter Maria and grandson Kyle Lockhart; Her son, Joseph ‘Joey,’ his wife Sandy and her grandkids Yonus, B and Skylar. She also leaves behind her two brothers and their families: David and Michael Brugato and two sisters Jeanette Grimaldi and Francine Buker and their families, and her sister-in-law Molly Brooks and her family.
