Anne's obituary
It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Anne Gillam, who entered into rest on December 28, 2023. She was born on December 6, 1946, and lived a life of purpose, dedication, and love.
Anne was a beacon of strength and gentility. She was determined and honest, embodying virtues that made her an inspiration to those around her. Anne had a loving soul, which was evident in her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her biggest lesson in life: "Forgive for yourself, not for others," will continue to resonate in our hearts.
She was happily married to Jon Gillam since 1980. Together, they created a beautiful life, one of their greatest accomplishments being their children: Jason, Mike, and Sarah Gillam. They also have the joy of their granddaughters, Destiney and Cirsten Gillam. Her love for her family was boundless and they survive her, carrying the torch of her spirit.
A noteworthy highlight of her journey was her professional career as a teacher and a volunteer at Kenwood Elementary. It was here that she nurtured and inspired countless young minds, displaying her unwavering dedication and love for teaching.
Her faith was a significant part of her life, finding solace and joy as an attendee of Crestwood Baptist Church. Her belief served as her compass, guiding her through the journey of life.
Anne leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and the ability to keep moving forward despite the challenges life throws. Her life served as a testament to her strength and her ability to bridge generational differences.
Anne was a loving mom, a doting grandmother, and a dedicated friend. She filled our lives with joy, and her absence will be deeply felt. As we mourn the loss of Anne, we also celebrate her life and the beautiful impact she left on us.
