Annamaria's obituary
Annamaria was born October 29, 1931, in Rome, Italy. She married Quinto Bacchiocchi on May 8, 1957, and joined him in Toronto, Canada, in 1958, to start their new life together.
Annamaria is survived by her son, Pietro (Peter), and will be greatly missed by her daughter-in-law, Allison. Her husband, Quinto, preceded her in death.
Annamaria was a long-time resident of Toronto, where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Cuccurano, Italy. She worked hard to learn English upon her arrival and worked as an upholsterer and seamstress, creating many of her own clothing designs. She loved to sing, and spent many years as a member of Coro Abruzzese and Coro Italia choirs. She also enjoyed cooking, entertaining friends and family, and travelling, especially to the beaches of Marche, Italy.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff and volunteers at Avondale Retirement Home, CCHC, VON, and Emily’s House for taking such good care of Anna over the past weeks, months, and years. Your dedication and kindness are truly appreciated.
The visitation is from 9 AM until 10 AM on Friday, May 8, 2020, at the A Roy Miller Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM, also at the A Roy Miller Chapel. Reverend Bruno Kesangana Nandaba will be officiating. The interment will be held at a later date at Prospect Cemetery in Toronto.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emily’s House Hospice at emilyshouse.ca.
