A Celebration of Life for Mother Anna Pearl Studwell April 25, 1954 – October 11, 2015
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” — Psalm 116:15
With hearts full of gratitude and reverence, we pause to honor the life and legacy of our beloved matriarch, Mother Anna Pearl Studwell, who transitioned into glory on October 11, 2015. Born on April 25, 1954, Anna was a woman of grace, wisdom, and unwavering faith. Her life was a living testimony of God’s love, and her presence was a gift to all who knew her.
Anna was the devoted mother of Ulricka Hawkins, Anna Thomas, William Young, and Marcus Smith (Kim). She also shared a sacred and cherished bond with her “daughter” Veronica Pair-Smith, whom she loved deeply and considered her own. Their connection was divinely appointed—rooted in love, laughter, and spiritual kinship.
She was the proud grandmother of Jasmine, Shaniqua, Kierra, Isaiah, Cha'niya, Angela, Anna, Aliyah, Quamaine, and Vincent, and the great-grandmother of Angel, Miracle, Zechariah, Tyliah, and Londyn. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Issac Studwell, and her grandson, Jeremiah Smith, whose memory she carried tenderly in her heart.
Mother Studwell was a faithful member of Miracle Temple Baptist Church, where she served joyfully in the choir. Her voice was anointed—lifting burdens, stirring hearts, and ushering in the presence of God. Though she no longer carried the title of evangelist, her life was a ministry. She walked in love, spoke with wisdom, and lived with purpose. Her prayers were powerful, her testimony sincere, and her faith unshakable.
She loved her family fiercely and found joy in the simple things—cooking soul-satisfying meals, watching WWE with unmatched enthusiasm, and creating a home filled with laughter and love. Her kitchen was her sanctuary, where she fed not just bodies, but spirits. Her cornbread, her greens, her stories—each one seasoned with love.
Anna Pearl Studwell was a woman of dignity, strength, and deep spiritual insight. She was a mother to many, a friend to all, and a vessel of God’s grace. Her legacy is etched in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit lives on in every song sung, every prayer whispered, and every act of kindness shared.
