Anna Maria Ramon Bustamante, 71, of Laredo, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was a woman of great strength, kindness, and faith, who devoted her life to God and her family.
Anna Maria found joy in caring for her loved ones and had a deep passion for cooking, always ensuring that everyone who entered her home was well fed and cared for. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, laughter, and love — filled with the delicious aromas of her cooking and the happy sounds of family gatherings.
She was proud of her rich family heritage as the sixth great-granddaughter of Tomás Sánchez, founder of Laredo, and María Catarina Uribe. Her roots were a source of great pride, and she carried her family’s legacy with grace and love throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ambrosio Ramon Jr. and Maria de la Luz Rodriguez.
She is survived by her loving husband, Fernando Bustamante; her three children, Yoel (Nora) Pompa, Selina (Alfonso) Nuño, and Brenda (Danny) Garza. She was a proud grandmother to twelve grandchildren — April, Kiana (Eian) Mora, Kristian, and Kristopher Pompa; Alfonso “BJ”, Melody, and Nathaniel Nuño; Adriel, Julius, Vida, Nova, and Valentia Garza — and two great-grandchildren, Kamila Pompa and Samuel Mora. She is also survived by her siblings, Ambrosio III “Bibi” (Delia Norma+), Nolan Thomas (Lilia) Ramon, Maria de la Luz (Nelson) Valmores, Aida Martha (Kenneth) Coleman, Alberto (Tammy) Ramon, Elroy Ramon, and Leroy (Sally) Ramon.
She will be remembered for the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the faith that guided her every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
