Anna's obituary
Anna Grisanzio Lombardo, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2024, in Naples, Florida, at the age of 88. She was born on March 9, 1936, in Mola di Bari, Italy, and was preceded in death by her siblings: Flora Riccio, Nicola Grisanzio, Lucia Battista, and Vittorio Grisanzio, as well as her son, Anthony.
Anna's journey took her from the coastal town of Mola di Bari, where she lived until her mid-twenties, to Brooklyn, New York, where she honed her skills as a talented seamstress. There, she met and married Joseph Lombardo, and together they had two children, Anthony and Luisa. In time, Anna and her family moved to Florida, where she lived until her passing.
Throughout her life, Anna was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, with her greatest joy being the time spent with her loved ones. She is survived by her daughter, Luisa Gale, and son-in-law, Rich, as well as her cherished grandson, Nicholas.
Anna's passions were many. She had a deep love for cooking, reading, and nurturing her beautiful garden, where her plants flourished under her careful attention. Above all, Anna was known for her warmth, kindness, and the boundless love she shared with family and friends. She continued her work as a seamstress, bringing both beauty and care into the lives of others.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on January 18, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Vero Beach, Florida, followed by burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Avow Hospice of Naples, an organization that provided Anna with exceptional care in her final days.
Anna will be forever remembered for the love she gave and the lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
