Hi Janay, you don't know me but my late husband, Cleve Overton, was friends with your Mom and Jay back in the Sixties and I was just looking through her book, which he kept, "Reflections of NYC, I googled her name and saw this obituary. I'm sorry to hear about Anna's passing but so glad she had a long and loving life. It seems there is a whole generation of talented people who lived before this "electronic" age and whose work is barely recognized. Cleve passed away in 2020 and I am determined to preserve his legacy. I have started a website on his life:
www.clevesart.com, I have some B & W photos of him, some of which may have been taken by Anna. I also have 2 woodcuts by Jay Moon that Jay gave him. On page 80 of her book is a photo of a peace march and the lady in the photo is holding a sign that says Staten Islanders For Peace. The lettering on the sign is Cleve's, I am sure. His lettering was distinctive and he made many signs in his life. We lived in DC for 25 years and attended many protests. His departure leaves a vacuum in my life, and I'm sure your Mom's does in yours. Best wishes to you, Jude

Dear Janay,
My heart goes out to you. May your mom rest in peace. She was blessed to have you for a daughter. It sounds like your mom was an amazing, creative, talented, loving mom. The loss of a mom is life-altering. Hugs.
