Anna's obituary
On the evening of Sunday, June 25, 2023, Anna was called home after a courageous two-year battle with ovarian cancer. Anna was 62 years old.
Anna LaRee Jacobsen (Nuffer) was born June 9, 1961 to Stan and Helen Nuffer in Troutdale, Oregon. Raised in Oregon with her four siblings, Anna spent her childhood immersed in many crafting projects such as sewing, beading, and embroidery. She was the peacemaker of the family, never causing or engaging in sibling rivalry.
In 1979, Anna graduated from Columbia High School and shortly after met the love of her life, Gary Jacobsen. Gary and Anna were married February 22nd, 1980 in the Logan, Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Anna was an active member of The Church throughout her life holding many callings she loved—her favorite being a primary chorister. Her love of music brought so much joy to her and those around her.
Anna had a passion for gardening, crocheting, enjoying nature, and reading. As an avid book reader, Anna fulfilled her dream of starting a Little Free Library for those in her local community. With thousands of books passing through her library over the past few years, it’s safe to say her dream was an absolute success.
Anna loved being involved with the community and those around her. She volunteered at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and in 2015 swam the entire width of the Columbia River between Oregon and Washington. She also spent years fostering kittens for the Humane Society of Utah.
Anna and Gary made their home in Springville, Utah. As a mother, Anna raised six children with love and care. Now grown, her children continue to pass down her examples of integrity, kindness, and positivity to their own children. After 25 years living in Springville, Anna and Gary moved to the Pacific Northwest, where they eventually bought their dream home in the forest of Kelso, Washington.
Anna is survived by her husband Gary, and their six children and their spouses.
She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren, her mother, and her four siblings.
Anna was reunited in heaven with her father Stan, her father-in-law Gail, and the many other family members and friends who passed before her.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023; 11AM in the Longview Chapel located at 900 11th Ave Longview, WA.
