Anna's obituary
Anna Mae Davis, 90, passed away on May 25, 2025, at her home in Marco Island, Florida, with her daughter and son by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Huntington, West Virginia, to Collis and Emma Payne, Anna Mae later moved with her family to a farm in Ohio. As the youngest child, she was cherished by her older brothers, Ralph and George Wyant. After graduating from Waterloo High School, she eagerly pursued further education in business.
Anna Mae met and married Daniel Allen Davis Sr. in Huntington before relocating to the Baltimore, Maryland, area. They shared 56 years of marriage until his passing in 2011. While raising their three children-Karen, Danny, and Andy-Anna Mae worked as an Avon representative and real estate agent before beginning a long career with A&P company accounting offices, where she retired after more than 20 years. She and Daniel split their time between Maryland and Marco Island before becoming full-time residents in 2007.
She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Allen Davis Sr., and their son, Andrew Scott Davis. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son, Karen Lucille Zimmerman and Daniel Allen Davis Jr.; daughter-in-law Petra Davis; grandchildren Rebecca Faith Davis, Melissa Hope Davis, Daniel Allen Davis III, Kathrine Anna Eynaud, and Rex Andrew Zimmerman; great-grandchildren Dominic Riley Davis and David Ryder Davis; as well as her faithful companion Robert Bell. She also leaves behind extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, close friends, and neighbors.
A former member of Linthicum Baptist Church, Anna Mae sang in the choir and taught Bible study for young children. After moving to Florida full-time, she became a member of The Family Church of Marco Island. She found joy in cooking, baking, sewing, and singing. Her love for the Lord and her family was unwavering.
A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on June 3 , 2025, at Family Church Marco, 1450 Winterberry Dr., Marco Island, FL 34145.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Zanetta Lamar and the team at Florida Oncology as well as Avow Hospice in Naples for their compassionate care during Anna Mae's final journey.
