Anna's obituary
We are saddened to share the passing of Anna Brattson, who left this world on April 13th, 2026. Anna succumbed to complications originating from a stroke in 2018. We who loved her are grateful that she is finally free.
Anna was born on July 5, 1945 in Warsaw, Poland. She led a vibrant life marked by kindness, humor and great style. Anna loved her children, family and friends. She loved being outdoors - skiing, swimming, sunbathing - traveling, enjoying music, animals, clothing, shoes and accessories.
Anna was a child of the 1950s and 60s. Her parents loved camping and taught her to ski at an early age. As a young woman, music and fashion sustained her and her friends in the shadows of restrictive communism. Anna met her future husband, Anatole, as a young teen in Warsaw. They nurtured a great love that survived all hurdles of adversity and time.
Anna graduated from the University of Warsaw with a BA in English and Russian languages. On her way out of Poland to pursue a better life in America, Anna spent months in London, and in Rome. In 1970 she joined Anatole in Queens, NY. They married in 1973 (?), and moved to Long Island where they lived for decades. Anna’s facility with languages and her ease of getting along with all types of people provided advantages in her new country. Anna had a 29-year career at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. She started in the department of Otolaryngology, performing hearing test studies on children, and ended with a long tenure as Executive Assistant to the Head of Neuroscience (Prof of?), where she assisted in many brain studies. Anna moved with her family to Los Angeles in 2005 for an early retirement of sorts, working part-time at Saks Fifth Avenue with her other passion - fashion.
We invite you to join us to celebrate Anna's life on Sunday May 24th from 12PM to 3PM at 23757 Canzonet Street, Woodland Hills CA 91367. Anna would want us to enjoy the happy memories, great company, food, drink and music.
Anna is survived by her husband, Anatole Brattson, children Michelle Brattson Majors and Anatole Brattson, Jr, son-in-law William “Brady” Majors Jr, grandson Mitchell Gregory Majors (all of Los Angeles, California), and brother Wojtek Nowakowski (of London, England).
Rest in peace, Anna. Your legacy of kindness, compassion, and love for life will inspire us forever.
