What a pleasure it was to have known you, Ann. Rest in peace.

Anne
Annie, Charlie, Baby CJ and Cory hope our contribution will give relief to those who struggle with this disease and their families. We share our condolences with the Heyneman family that struggled with our Aunt Anne's rapid cognitive decline for so many years. Godspeed, Anne, She is most certainly in a better place with her parents now.

The lounge in Judd Hall at the University of Chicago was dilapidated in the fall of 1972, but each morning at 10:30, it was crowded. I was drinking a cup of coffee. This beautiful woman comes up and asks if she could borrow 25 cents. I didn’t even know her. I turned to Larry Dornacker, and asked ‘what was that all about?’ And he said, “you’ll find out when she returns the quarter”. Next day she did. Her name was Ann. She was teaching English next door at the laboratory school. I asked if she would like to go out to dinner. She said yes. We had to walk. My only possession was an old bicycle. That dinner led to a long talk. Then a long relationship. That relationship included a move to Maryland and three wonderful children. But that is how we met.

As a child I always was impressed by her intellect. She was the scholar of the family.
