Ann LoRusso, 84, born in Washington DC, passed in Cape Coral, FL, daughter of Thelma Mae and James Jay Shaw, mother to Patricia Ann Shaw, John Robert Kopp and Jeanne LoRusso Fulkerson, grandmother to Michael John Kopp, Jennifer Nicole Palmer and Jaydn Fulkerson, and great grandmother to seven.
Her formative years were spent at residence in Eleuthera, Bahamas with her parents and late brother, Peter John Shaw.
After that, early years were spent in the Long Island area of New York – from Huntington, Orient Point to Rocky Point. Since the mid-70’s, Cape Coral, FL has been home.
After career events with multiple industries including banking and hospitality, Ann spent the vast majority of her life in the Real Estate industry – having been a Residential Real Estate Appraiser for 50+/- years. Her productivity and work ethic were unparalleled.
Within her profession, she was very involved with WCR – the Women’s Council of Realtors – and was a regular supporter, proponent and contributor for their events, their functions, and their charitable collections.
Ann often spearheaded special projects to help those less fortunate. She had a special place in her heart for soldiers stationed away from home, evidenced by her frequent purchases of care packages – sent oversees to those protecting our freedoms. Her kindnesses, her helpful nature and her desire to help others wherever she could, were prominent characteristics of everything she did…. everything she was…. all was always done with love.
A Memorial Service to honor the Life of Ann LoRusso is being planned and details will be shared when arrangements are finalized.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope Hospice – Cape Coral, can be made in Ann Shaw LoRusso’s name.
