Ann Thompson was born March 22, 1939, in Georgetown, South Carolina to Henry and Bessie King, her parents (deceased) of Arcadia Plantation in Georgetown South Carolina.
She attended St. Ann Baptist Church on the Arcadia Plantation in Georgetown, South Carolina.
She studied at Howard High School in Georgetown, South Carolina.
Ann married her high school sweetheart, Joe Thompson, of Pawley’s Island, South Carolina on July 18, 1959.
Ann and Joe Lewis Thompson Sr. moved their family to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1960.
Ann was an employee of the Frankford Candy Company for 26 years before she retired in 2003.
Ann was a devoted member of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She joined the church in 1967. During her time as member of the church she served as a Church Trustee, Choir member and as a member of the Floral Club.
Ann touched the lives of all who knew and loved her. Her passing leaves a void in their hearts.
Ann leaves behind her husband Joe Lewis Thompson Sr., six children (Johnny King, Leroy King, Joann DeGuerre, Joe Lewis Thompson Jr., Quentin Thompson and Cyntricia White), three Sisters (Louise Tucker, Emily Boone, and Rodin (Thora) Green), and one brother (Howard King). She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many relatives, church family and friends.
Ann was predeceased by her son (Albert King) and three siblings (Arthur King, Albertha King, and Frances Davis).
