Ann's obituary
Ann Marie Hunstiger left us for her next journey on September 20, 2021. She is deeply missed by her daughter, Selina, son-in-law Douglas Friends, granddaughters Indigo and Celia, many siblings, nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
Ann was born April 26,1953 in North Platte, Nebraska, growing up in Missouri and Maryland with her eight siblings. Her studies focused on science and art which led her to be a lifelong artist and lover of nature - all the natural beauty of science. Ann worked for the city of seattle for 25 years starting out answering calls for the water department and later working in GIS, Y2K testing, IT, and writing Stormwater code.
After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her mineral meditation and art print groups, as well as developing her art practice and showing in several local businesses. She was dedicated to healing as a Reiki master, certified life coach, and stone healer.
Ann was an inquisitive being, an independent warrior and especially sensitive person - all of which served her well in her battle with brain cancer the last two years. With dignity and grace she transitioned peacefully into the next stage- as she would say.
Ann donated her body to the University of Washington for research after which she will be cremated and, as she requested, Selina will bring her cremains to La Push, WA a beautiful beach on the Olympic peninsula that Ann loved to visit.
Heartfelt thanks to her medical team and many friends and family that cared for Ann, read her books, cooked her food, and shared space with her especially in the last month of her life.
