Ann's obituary
Ann was born to Judge Theodore M. Williams and Irene Bass Williams, and was the oldest sister to Theodore M. Williams, II, Charles Williams, Jane Williams Harris and Florence Williams Ousley.
Ann graduated from Fisk University and married Guy L. Goens in 1959; they moved to New York City, where Ann launched a career in special education.
Ann eventually pursued a successful career in elementary education for 30 years in the Cleveland Public School system. Ann was incredibly proud of her reputation as an excellent educator and developed many friends and colleagues along the way.
Upon retirement, Ann became an integral part of the lives of Maximilien and Alexandre Bourgeois, in Westchester, New York. Known to everyone as "Gam-Gam," she became a soccer grandma and a fixture in the local community.
Ann is survived by many nieces and nephews and brought love and light to everyone she met and befriended. She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity and loving nature. Ann loved to dance and is now dancing with Ted, Irene, Ted Jr. and Poo-Poo in heaven.
Ann leaves behind her loving daughter and grandsons, Joi, Max and Alex, and Claudia Fascenelli, Joi's partner.
The family encourages donations to efforts to defeat the novel coronavirus plaguing the national and international communities.
