Ann's obituary
During her early years, Ann was an outstanding student with the ability to engage everyone around her in an active debate across a wide range of topics. As the oldest child in the Rossi house, she blazed the way for her brothers Tony and Dave, always taking time to share her life lessons and support them with cheers at ballgames, rides to events or advice from her experiences. Ann attended high school in Medford Lakes, NJ, graduating in three years with multiple academic awards while becoming a mother to her daughter Sue. Ann later studied nursing, married and worked several jobs while balancing the life as a mother and wife. Her giving heart called her to volunteer and support children’s charities and the Red Cross for many years. During her time in New Jersey, Ann made friends and memories that she kept close as her life transitioned to the south.
Ann moved to central Florida in the early nineties and began a successful career at Disneyworld where she made many lifelong friends as she helped her parents care for her grandmother. After leaving Disney in the late nineties, Ann decided to travel and went cross country by train, stopping along the way to see America and ending her trip at a friend’s in southern California. Various odd jobs and a year later, Ann moved to Wilmington and secured a job at Verizon Wireless where she was still working when she passed. In Wilmington, she married again and raised a stepson for whom she cared dearly. Ann loved the Catholic church and was very happy to have completed a pilgrimage to Lourdes and St. Peter’s where she attended a Papal Mass.
Ann was blessed throughout her life with strong ties to many friends. She leaves behind her daughter, Sue Newsom, her stepson, Marcus Browand, her goddaughter, Lauren Gleeson, two grandchildren, her parents Ann and Anthony Rossi, two siblings, and all the special friends she made throughout her life’s journey.
