Ann's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Ann "Oompie" Carawell, who left us on November 29, 2024. Born on November 1, 1935, Ann lived a life full of warmth and devotion, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure to know her.

Known affectionately by her loved ones as "Oompie", she preferred being addressed as Ann. A pillar of strength and heart in her family, Ann was a person of unwavering love and endless generosity.

Ann is survived by her children, Delores Carawell, Evalyn Carawell, Melvin King, Leonard King, and Donielle King. She was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren; Charla King-Jackson, Brittay King, Latecus King, Thomas King, Monae King, Shonae King, Michael Carawell, Tarletus Carawell, Jaqueline Carawell, Roberta King, Tina King, Edward King and Breeia King. Each one of them was a unique source of joy and pride in her life.

Her loving soul was predeceased by her siblings, Stephen McKinley, Delmar McKinley, Thomas Howard, Maurice Howard, Ronald McKinley, Bonnie Howard, Mary-Alice Stevens, Marcia Howard, Daphne Watson, and Napoleon McKinley. Her children, Charles King, Bobby King, and LuWanda King and her devoted husband, Thomas Carawell, also preceded her in passing. Their memories remain etched in our hearts and give us the courage to continue with life's journey.

We remember Ann today and every day as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her warm heart, open arms, and endearing smile will be missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the lives of those she loved. As we mourn her passing, we celebrate the remarkable life she lived and thank her for the wonderful memories that we will always cherish.

Rest in peace, dear Ann. Your love and legacy will forever remain in our hearts.
