Angelo's obituary

Angelo Ioannis Nokas, 84, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021. He is survived by his son John (Valerie Emanoil); his daughter Elaine (Maurice Kratzer); his six grandchildren: Jordan James, Marilyn Nokas, Ryan Kratzer, Byron Nokas, Emily Kratzer and Angelo Kratzer; and his sisters Voula Golematis and Stacy Dominos and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Nokas, his sister Stella Skalis and his daughter Deborah Nokas. Angelo was born and raised in the village of Xironomi, Thebes, Greece. He joined the army at age 18 and became an electrician. In the late 60s, he journeyed to the United States and soon after started a family. He worked in the restaurant business, eventually owning several establishments in New Jersey and Florida. In the 90s he became a bus driver for the county of Passaic, New Jersey. He always loved what he did and retired in 2014. In retirement he spent the summer months in Michigan and the winter months in Florida. He was a simple man with a big heart and that’s how he will be remembered.
