Angelina's obituary
Angelina Maria Amor Cortes, 15, was born under a full moon on February 28th, 2010 in Rapid City, South Dakota- a moment that would foreshadow the luminous spirit she would carry throughout her life. On January 17th 2026, she passed away- leaving behind a world dimmed without her light and forever changed by her presence.
Angelina was the beloved daughter of Audrey Otto and Nico Cortes, and was an incredibly loving, helpful and proud sister to Xander, Axel and Juniper. She considered her mother her best friend and loved her with an unmatched level of ferocity.
As a young child, Angelina loved being with her cousins, aunts and uncles, sharing many beautiful memories with her cousins Kyra, Kayla, Victoria, Janessa, and Marissa. She flourished when surrounded by her great grandma, Amy and grandma, Georgene, who showered her with unconditional and unfaltering love.
A spiritual soul filled with wonder and joy for the little things, Angelina found magic in everyday moments. She had a rare gift for noticing beauty where others might overlook it-whether in nature, music, quiet moments at home or lending a helping hand. She loved spending time outdoors, hiking, collecting rocks, and taking pictures. She found immense joy in being with her friends Ruby, Isla, Ameliya, Luci, Paloma and countless others who filled her life with limitless love.
Grateful for having shared her life are her parents, Audrey Otto and Nico Cortes; siblings Xander and Axel Cortes and Juniper Byram; Great Grand parents Amy Rogers; James (Annette) Hof, Karess (Joe) Matthews; Grandparents Kent (Kori) Otto, Georgene (Marvin) Bragg, Albert (Lacy) Cortes, Margarita (Julian) Cortes, Ricardo (Valerie) Cortes; Aunts Sierra Aldana, Mireya (Kevin) Jones, Viviana Jones, Giana Bragg; Uncle Jiovanni Jones; plus many other cousins and beloved relatives. She is proceeded in death by a great Grandfather Bernie Rogers and Aunt Heather Casarotti.
