Angelica Adriana Tellez-Pérez, 27, passed away peacefully at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center-Houston, TX surrounded by her family and loved ones on Friday, March 17, 2023.

Angelica was born on August 1, 1995. She was the youngest of Mauricio and Sara Peña's four children. As a young girl, Angelica was sassy, goofy and charismatic and she loved to make people laugh. Angelica loved to spend time with her brothers and cousins at her Buelo and Buela’s house.

Angelica attended school at Del Valle ISD where she met her lifelong best friend Katie Hooker (Plant) along with several other impactful friendships that she kept a special bond with over the years. She eventually went on to meet the love of her life Joel Pérez, with whom she would spend many loving years, having fun, eating out, traveling and raising two beautiful dogs together, Zeus and Penelope.

Angelica is survived by her parents Sara & Mauricio Peña, her brothers Diego Vasquez, Gabriel Vasquez & Osvaldo Peña, her grandfather Nabor Barrientos Tellez; along with her Uncles, Aunts, nephews, cousins and a large, loving extended family from her boyfriend Joel’s side whom she loved dearly and considered each one of them as family as well. Angelica leaves behind many friends who also mourn her loss.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother Merejilda Lopez and grandmother Zulema Mendoza-Tellez.

Memorial services and Celebration of Life details will be announced at a later date. Scattering of ashes will be organized by the family in accordance and in honor of Angelica's wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pediatric Heart Transplant Society or directly to the family in support of fulfilling Angelica's final wishes. 

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Bill Roussel, Pat Goulding, Aida Cantu and the family and friends at Life Austin Church.
