Angelica's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Ms. Angelica "Shelly" Ponder on December 23, 2025. Born on January 5, 1989, Shelly's 36 years on this earth were filled with love, laughter, and an enduring sense of spirit.
Shelly is survived by a loving family; her daughter, Kaedyn Jolly and her husband, Chris Jolly. She is also survived by her mother, Lisa Rector, her father David Ponder, her sisters, Anastacia Spencer, April Lake and Alyssa Ponder, and brother, Wesley Phillips. She will forever be remembered and loved by her aunt, Lisa Ponder as well as several other aunts and uncles; her mother-in-law, Belva Crowe; and her niece, MiKayla Lutz. Shelly was predeceased by her brother, Lars Ponder, her cousin Rachael Morris, her Uncle David Honeycutt, and her grandparents, Nancy Crisp, Joyner Ponder, Bessie Rector, and Harold Rector.
Shelly was a woman of magnificent personality, best described as boisterous. Her vibrant energy and the infectious way she could light up any room will be sorely missed, but fondly remembered.
Shelly had a deep fondness for the Harry Potter series, both the books and the films. The magical world resonated with her lively spirit and active imagination. She found immense peace and solace in reading and spending quality time with her family and pets.
Among the many life lessons Shelly imparted to those around her, the one that stood out the most was the power of forgiveness. It was a virtue she held dear to her heart and practiced consistently throughout her life. This and many other lessons will serve as a testament to her wisdom, kindness, and generosity of spirit.
Shelly's memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her. In her last selfless act, Shelly was also an organ donor. Her love, warmth, and cheerful spirit will forever be missed, but the impact she left on our lives will never be forgotten.
