To the family of Shelly Ponder, I want you to know how sorry I am to hear the news about Shelly. I had the privilege of teaching Shelly for two semesters when she attended CHS. Shelly was a wonderful student who was talented and added joy to our Spanish classes. I took Shelly and two other students to visit the Johnson & Wales University at the Charlotte Campus where we had a great day together. I still have our beautiful Shelly’s prom pictures that were made at my house. I wish that I could have attended her service today but due to health issues, I was unable to do so. I will forever have fond memories of Shelly and so proud to know that she was an organ donor. I will continue to pray for your family - sending hugs and love.

I am greatly saddened to learn of Shelly’s passing. To read that she was an organ donor is no surprise. The obituary gave a really good picture of what a wonderful person Shelly was.
