Angela's obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Angela "Angie" Jankowski on September 26, 2023. Angie was born on July 19, 1972, and lived a life defined by resilience, love, and laughter. She was a remarkable woman with a heart full of gold, who illuminated every room with her radiant personality.

Angie is survived by her sister, Bonnie Smith; her children, Kaitlyn Wilson and Curtis Thurston; and her cherished granddaughter, Luna Wilson. She leaves behind her brothers, Andrew, Timothy, Steven Thurston, and Michael Burdin. She is predeceased by her mother, Eleanor Lane.

Nobody could ever forget Angie's zest for life. She was a lover of Popeye's Chicken and a devoted fan of Elvis, Patsy Cline, and Kelly Clarkson. Her infectious laughter would fill the room as she watched her favorite 70's sitcoms, or during movie nights, which frequently featured films such as 'Sweet Dreams', 'Elvis', and 'Dirty Dancing'. Angie's love for life was also apparent in her love for karaoke and dancing, and her love for the beach.

Angie’s spirit was indomitable. Despite overcoming sexual and domestic abuse throughout her life, she refused to let these dark moments define her. Instead, she used them as a platform to spread light, laughter, and love. As someone who took the greatest pleasure in making others laugh, she was a beacon of positivity, even in her darkest moments. Angie was a survivor who made the best of the cards life dealt her.

Angie's legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and love. She made a profound impact on everyone she met, always leading with her heart and demonstrating an uncanny ability to look past life's challenges and find joy. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Angie had a unique gift for making people laugh, a gift that will remain with us, making us smile in her memory.
