Angi's obituary
Angela (Angi) Elizabeth San Souci (Moorman) was born on September 11, 1988, to David and Elizabeth (Davis) Moorman. She left this world on Sunday April 12th, after a valiant battle with duodenal cancer.
From an early age, Angi pursued both education and expression with equal passion. A graduate of Centerville High School in 2006, she was deeply involved in dance, competing throughout her high-school years and developing the confidence and presence that would define so much of her life. Her academic achievements included, but were not limited to, the national honor society, speech and debate club, while participating in multiple plays through theatre and church.
After high school, Angi moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan to attend Eastern Michigan University. There, she continued her love of learning and became actively involved in campus life, including the debate club, where she discovered her passion for public speaking. She was also a proud member of Phi Sigma Sigma sorority, where she built lifelong bonds with her sisters.
Angi continued her involvement with her sorority into her alumnae years and served in a multitude of roles. From Chapter Key Advisor, working with collegiate members, to Committee Chair for the Alumnae Engagement Committee, leading the way with new opportunities for alumnae sisters to stay involved and connected. Angi’s passion for sisterhood and ability to forge meaningful connections was evident in the work she did to perpetuate the advancement of womanhood through her leadership.
Angi carried that passion for growth and leadership into her professional life. She worked alongside renowned leadership speaker John Maxwell and earned a coaching certification through Tony Robbins’ program. She later joined Rehmann, where she brought her energy, insight, and humor to her work, helping others grow into better versions of themselves—often reminding them, in her own playful words, “how not to be assholes.”
In recent years, Angi’s walk with Jesus Christ became a central part of her life. As an active member of her church community, she co-led growth tracks and Bible studies, mentored young women, and built deep, meaningful relationships. She had a gift for meeting people where they were and helping them grow—both in her work as a trainer and life coach and in her faith. Her love for Christ and for others will continue to echo through the many lives she shaped.
In 2024, she found a new passion and community in roller derby as an officiate with the Detroit Roller Derby League. Across tracks in Michigan and Ohio, her badass alter ego - “Principal Buttercup” - came to life as she brought her trademark intensity, humor, and heart to every bout. The name and persona were inspired by nicknames her Grandfather Tom gave her earlier in life.
More than any title or achievement, Angi will be remembered for the way she lived—fully, joyfully, and with deep gratitude. Wherever she went—school, work, church, or derby—she didn’t just make friends; she built family.
She is survived by her parents, David and Elizabeth (Davis) Moorman; her grandmother, Marjorie Davis; Uncle Thom Davis (Kim); Uncle Greg Moorman (Sheree); Uncle Paul Moorman (Elaine); Aunt MaryRose Lodge (Mike); Uncle Martin Moorman; her sisters, Katie(Dayton)and Lauren (Bela); her partner, Taylor; and a wide circle of cousins, and cherished friends, including Missy, Miriam, Rochelle, Courtney, Kevin, and Jack; and lastly, her beautiful pup Maizy.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Thomas Davis; and grandparents Earl and Rose Marie Moorman, as well as her beloved pups Sphinxy and Max.
A celebration of Angi’s life will be held at the Wandering Griffin Brewery & Restaurant at 3725 Presidential Drive, Beavercreek, OH 45324 on Sunday, May 3rd from 1-5 pm. A one-hour time slot during this event from 2:30-3:30 is reserved for a special presentation and anyone who would like to speak.
