Angela's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Angela Smith, affectionately known as Angie to her close friends and family. Born on August 7, 1965, she was an enduring spirit who bravely battled cancer for seven years. Her bravery and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew her, and her absence will be deeply felt.
Angie was an enthusiastic LSU Tiger and Philadelphia Eagles fan. Her enthusiasm and team spirit were not bound by any season. The joy she derived from watching football and managing her fantasy football team was a sight to behold. Her love for classic cinema was well-known, with 'Gone With The Wind' being amongst her favorites. She was always anxiously awaiting the new season of Yellowstone as well.
Some of Angie's favorite activities were reading, putting puzzles together, and back porch sitting by the fire. These quiet moments offered her immense peace. She also enjoyed visiting her best friend so she could spend time with horses. Yellow was her favorite color, echoing her vibrant and sunny personality.
Her courage, resilience, and unwavering faith were the traits that defined her. Despite her battle with cancer, Angie was a beacon of hope and strength, proving that even in the darkest times, the human spirit remains unbroken. She will forever be remembered for her brave soul and her love for her family.
The void left by Angie's loss is profound and irreplaceable. She will be missed dearly by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the life of a truly remarkable woman whose legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she has left behind.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Mike Smith of DeRidder, LA; parents Bob and Sue Arledge of DeRidder, LA; daughter Amanda Schuster (Jason) of Lafayette, LA; son Blake Smith (Jessica) of Lafayette, LA; son Payton Smith of Houston, Tx; grandchildren Ariana Fletcher, Reagan Schuster, and Nolan Schuster all of Lafayette, LA; sister Cathy Parker (Buddy) of DeRidder, LA; brother Chris Arledge of DeRidder, LA niece Susannah Parker of DeRidder, La; in-laws Mark and Wanda Smith of DeRidder, LA; sister in law Stacey Sudduth (Rocky) of Enterprise, Al as well as many other cherished family and friends.
A private ceremony will be held by the immediate family.
