Angie's obituary

Angela Marie Rees, 54, of Lakewood Ranch, FL passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Lakewood Ranch, FL.

Angie was born October 11th, 1967 in Munich, Germany to Roger and Peggy Gray of Creve Coeur, IL.  She married Dean Rees on March 14th, 1987 at the Creve Coeur Church of Nazarene.

Angie is survived by her husband Dean Rees, daughter Erika Rees, daughter Rachel Rees, parents Roger and Peggy Gray, sister Lisa (Randy) Hyatt, and sister Susie (Chris) Davison.

Angie graduated from East Peoria High School in 1985.  She worked at the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in various roles for 20 years until 2003, when she chose to dedicate her time to the raising of her two young daughters.  Giving and sharing was second nature to Angie.  She could always be relied upon to volunteer at her children’s school, hosting family and friend gatherings, and helping others in their time of need.  Angie loved music of all kinds, but left no doubt to those that knew her well, which music was her favorite.  Angie loved to travel and approached each new adventure with the same energy and excitement as she did everything in life.  Most of all, Angie cherished time with her family and friends.  She would be the first to arrive and the last to leave at any gathering, and staying to help whenever needed.  Talking and visiting with friends always brought out Angie’s beautiful smile and heartfelt laugh that was infectious to everyone around her.  She was the life of the party, deeply loved by family and friends around the world, and now, dearly missed.

A visitation service will be held from 10:00a – 11:30a on Saturday, August 13th at the El Vista Baptist Church, 6301 North Syler Street, Peoria, IL.  A celebration of life will be held immediately following the service at the Timberlake Club, 5501 West Farmington Road, Peoria, IL.
