Angela “Mama” Mary Barberini Johnson, passed surrounded by her entire family, on May 21, 2024, at the age of 82.

Born on September 1, 1941, in San Francisco California, Angela’s life was centered around and guided by her love for her family and friends.

Angela attended high school at Saint Paul’s School in San Francisco and remained an active alumna throughout her life. After graduating she married her husband, Boyd Johnson, and became a loving mother to five children. Angela moved to Burlingame, California in the early 1970s and became an active community member, and ran a successful catering business.

Angela had never met a stranger, only friends she had not yet met. She enjoyed hosting and caring for those around her. Her house was constantly full of laughter and family members. After her children moved out, her grandchildren moved in, and it was rare her guest bedrooms were not occupied. She befriended people from around the world, especially from Ireland, and would willingly welcome them into her home and her daily email rotation.

Angela is survived by her siblings– Rita, Bonnie, Mary, Johnny, Eddie, and Lou– and her five children– Ray, Tim, Donna, Doug, and Patrick. As well as 16 devoted grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church on Friday, May 24, 2024.
