Angela's obituary
Angela “Angie” Diane Lund, 48, formerly from Nisswa, MN, passed away on December 27, 2023, in her home in Emerald, WI. A Celebration of Angie’s Life will be held at 11 AM on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the Phoenix Grill & Event Center, in Baldwin, WI.
Angie was born on October 9, 1975, in Thief River Falls, MN, to Charles and Marilyn Lund.
Following graduation from Brainerd High School, in 1994, Angie worked for the Minnesota Department of Corrections in Sauk Center and Oak Park Heights Prison. It was while she was working for the prison that she completed her B.S. in Police Science, from St. Mary’s College.
Angie began employment at Ramsey County Community Corrections in 2003. It was there that she discovered her passion for gardening. Angie was promoted to the horticultural program, where she was committed to teaching inmates landscaping skills that they could take with them when they were released, and coordinating the annual flower sale. Many former inmates reached out to Angie over the years, thanking her for teaching them a trade and making a difference in their lives.
While at Ramsey County, Angie received her Master Gardener Certification from the U of M. Her passion and love for gardening was evident at work, but also at home where her yard was filled with beautiful flower gardens and eclectic decorations.
Angie’s passion for gardening was only surpassed by her love for animals. Her dog, Chloe, was never far from her side right up to the end. She always had cats, and was willing to take in rescues and strays, including occasional birds, chipmunks, squirrels, mice, raccoons, etc.… (Angie often left her door open so Chloe could let herself outside).
Angie was brilliant, hilarious, kind-hearted, stubborn, independent, and most of all, lived life on her own terms. Angie is preceded in death by her father, Charles Lund. She will be missed by her mother, Dr. Marilyn Moses; brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Krista Lund; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Todd Jorgenson; nephews, Tyler and Lincoln; niece, Elliet; many friends, former coworkers, and extended family members.
Instead of flowers, the family would prefer donations to Lucky Paws Midwest, in Baldwin, WI, or Alcoholics Anonymous.
