Angela's obituary
Angela L. Alton, age 55, of Memphis,Tennessee, fell asleep on February 21, 2024, after battling extended illness.
Angela “Angie” was born on 1968 in Northern Virginia, where she also was raised. From childhood onward Angie enjoyed nature, art, poetry, and music. She loved playing the violin and earned various awards on the state level for her proficiency in that musical endeavor. She graduated from Gar-Field HIgh School in 1987.
Angie was raised in the way of the truth and appreciated the examples of her mother, Pat, and older sisters Iris and Ivy. Her outgoing personality became apparent early in life; thus Angie found much enjoyment in working with various older ones in the ministry from a very young age. Her growing love and appreciation for her God, Jehovah, led to the decision to dedicate her life to him, which was symbolized on December 22, 1984 in Crownsville, Maryland.
After setting the gaol to become a regular pioneer, she commenced that avenue of service on September 1, 1989. Angie married her best friend and love of her life, Perry, in June of 1991. After marriage, she joined him in Bethel service, serving full time at the local branch office of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In 2006, Angie and Perry were reassigned to the field as special pioneers in Memphis, Tennessee, having served there together ever since.
During her past 34 years in full-time service, Angie enjoyed many aspects of her assignments, including support activities for the worldwide global preaching work and enjoyed meeting people from diverse backgrounds. She also found delight in teaching others the Bible truths which she held so dear. Her positive attitude and ‘quiet and mild spirit’ have been an example for all, and she will truly be missed.
As Angie’s illness progressed, she replaced fear of the unknown with giving as much as she could to others as her health allowed. In turn, she experienced happiness, joy, and a deepened friendship with Jehovah and her spiritual family. We are happy that Angie was not afriad or anxious, as her reliance on Jehovah fortified her to face her trial courageously.
(Isaiah 41:10,13)
