Today CSU shared their fall address, and planted a ceremonial tree to remember what's happened the last 18 months. Attendees were invited to write a note on compostable paper and plant it with the tree. Today, we remember you - you are forever on campus now <3

A comment; a challenge; a discussion. Presented to our fellow research administrators at Colorado State University. So much fun. Happy Birthday, Angel.

I met Angel when I tagged along to go dancing with she and her niece Claire (who invited me). All the time I got to spend with her from that point on, she brought her fun, vibrant spirit, open mind, eye for beauty and art, and a passion for adventure and new experiences. It is a tragedy that this world is no longer graced with Angel's presence, and I send endless love and my heartfelt condolences to those she leaves behind.

I miss Angel.

We could talk about anything, and when she came to work at CSU we had the opportunity to explore things that were important to both of us in a context that touched on our personal and professional lives.

We did a virtual FAC, drinking Margaritas, and sharing a virtual walk through the Italian cities that our kids had explored together, marveling at the art, the architecture, the reverence, and the pace of life that might suit anyone given the opportunity to experience it.

We presented a talk to our peers at CSU about "Culture, What is it, and Why Should You Care" that arose from an offhand comment and blossomed into something magical, at least to us, as we spent hours collecting, collating, and narrating a short PowerPoint dialogue about navigating relationships that were becoming contentious for reasons less than noble.

We strolled through City Park with our kids, battling Team Rocket, catching weird anime-inspired critters, and teaming up with unknown allies to defeat (and capture) the monsters that occupied mythical spaces.

Angel was bright, curious, courageous, intrepid, focused, professional, and Angel was fun.

I miss her. I hope she'll visit, from time to time. There's a space for her on my right shoulder.

When Angel came to my 65th birthday party at Rockabillies in Arvada in March 2019, she gave me this adorable cat planter planted with a Rabbits Foot Fern. Sadly, the fern did not survive but I have planted a Pansy annual in it this summer in her honor. She was such a kind and loving soul, and she will never be forgotten. I still remember going to a swamp meet at a friend's house with a load of old camera lenses and photography equipment. Angel was overwhelmed and ecstatic over her find. I also fondly remember having late night coffee with her at Bardo's on South Broadway in Denver after a night of music and dancing at the Skylark Lounge. It was never too late at night for Angel. Be sure to tell someone you love them today!

NYE at the dinner theatre. Shane and I were working, but we got to share this beautiful moment with Angel and my family— a midnight glass of champagne after Rock of Ages. She was always so fun, so down for a party, and so supportive of whatever artistic endeavors we were pursuing at any given time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with Angel the first few months of this year and felt like I was just getting to know her. She was kind and patient and I will miss her.

Nan
My condolences to all of Angel's loved ones. I hadn't had the pleasure of knowing Angel long, and certainly was a short time of working in the office with her before we all went remote. It didn't take long to recognize Angel was a kind, sincere, and thoughtful person. She will be sorely missed.

I thought of Angel this morning and burst out laughing at this thing I guess my mother did. Sometimes when I wash dishes and I don’t want to put them in the dishwasher I just lay them upside down halfway in the sink to dry and halfway on the counter. Angel saw me do this once and she says to me, “oh my gosh, Kurt does the same thing. This is where he gets it.”
I had the pleasure of getting to know her the past year and half, and she was such a wonderful person to work with and so sweet. I will miss her and our chats. My condolences to all of her loved ones.
Angel and I started working at CSU together at the same time. I remember laughing and bantering with Angel, working with her was truly a pleasure. I will miss her wit, tenacity, and kindness.

Oh Angel - I will miss you forever! Can't even get through any of this or thinking of you without my eyes leaking all over the place. You always made our get togethers complete. Such a special bond we had as the outlaws in the family. Your kindness and the joy you always brought will always be remembered. Wherever you are - Save me a Seat!!!

My daughter Zoë grew up with Angel as part of our family. She wrote this for you today, Angel ♥️:

Lovely.
Lovely to see through your gifted eyes
Every seemingly plain scene suddenly recanvased and wrapped with lace and bows
Lovely to immerse within your sweet words shared as delicately as those years spent upon a balcony
Dahlias fragranced your words so comforting and held so dear
A laugh that sounded like spring rain trickled down the metal stairs
It is hard not to feel nostalgic when everything was as beautiful as your disposition
A reminder of a flickering lamp post
Or a Jane Austin novel
Rain, flowers, coffee and tea,
I see you everywhere
I see you in the faces of smiling strangers
In the taste if secret lemon candies
I see you lovely as ever
Intangible but lovely all the same
Gone but never leaving
