Aneta's obituary
Miu, Aneta Nela, 93, resident of Elim Wellspring, in Princeton, MN; passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026 with family by her side. Preceded in death by her husband Nicolae Miu Sr.; brother, George Banica; and sister, Viorica Banica. She is survived by her twin sons, Nicolae Miu Jr. (WI) and Mihai (Patti) Miu (MN); brother, Aurel Banica (Romania); grandchildren, Chantal (Joel) Pokorny (MN), Mary (Jake) Halverson (MN), Isabella Miu (MN), Alexander Miu (Romania), Samantha Couch (ND) and Adriana Miu (MN), along with 3 great grandchildren and numerous extended family in both Romania and the United States.
Aneta was born November 27, 1932, in Surdila-Greci, Romania as the eldest of 4 children born to Sandu and Dragormira Banica. Aneta married Nicolae Miu in 1964 in Bucharest, Romania, and together welcomed Nicolae and Mihai to their marriage. Aneta was an accountant at various factories, such as a chocolate factory and a meat and fish cannery, as well as a home maker who enjoyed cooking traditional Romanian foods. Aneta and Nicolae brought their children to the United States in 1985 to escape communism, where she resided in Golden Valley, MN; Brookings, SD; Shakopee, MN and most recently at Elim Home in Princeton, MN. Aneta enjoyed many trips with her family to various states within the United States with her favorite places being Hawaii and Arizona.
