Andy's obituary

In Loving Memory of Andrew Jay Watkins

With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, Andrew Jay Watkins, who departed from this world far too soon on September 24, 2023. He was 37 years old.

Andy was a beacon of kindness and compassion. His quiet personality was complemented by a generous spirit and a heartfelt desire to assist others. His willingness to help was not limited by age; he extended his kindness to both the elderly and children alike. His friendly demeanor endeared him to his cousins and other young children, who delighted in his company. His careful and deliberate mannerisms were a testament to his thoughtful nature.

From the onset of his life, Andy grappled with numerous medical challenges. These adversities presented significant difficulties, yet he confronted them with remarkable courage and resilience. His strength in the face of adversity served as an inspiration to us all.

At the time of his passing, Andy resided in Fayette, Alabama, where he had been living for the past two years while caring for his cherished grandmother. His departure from this world is not an end but a transition to a place of greater joy where he can reunite with those he held dear. We take solace in knowing that he is now free from his burdens and at peace.

Andrew was born on September 22, 1986, in Seattle, WA. He grew up in Kirkland, near Seattle, WA. Andrew graduated from Best High School in 2005.

He had a passion for cars, motorcycles, bikes, and all types of music. Andys love and admiration for nature, outdoors and animals was also a huge part of his life.  He could be found constantly tinkering with any type of device known to man that he was either fixing or enhancing. He had the largest supply of wires and parts for those areas of passion.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Joe Watkins, whom he dearly loved, of Fayette, AL.

Andrew is survived by his mother Natalee (Williams Watkins) Ulrich of Riverton, UT; stepfather Dan Ulrich of Riverton, UT; Father Eric Watkins of Lake Stevens, WA; siblings Charles Watkins of Kenmore, WA; Robert Ulrich of Gilbert, AZ; David Ulrich of Snoqualmie, WA; Brittany Ulrich of Bothell, WA. He is also survived by his grandmother Barbara (Gann) Watkins of Fayette, AL.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Andy on Saturday, October 7th at 11:00 am at the LDS Church located at 605 3rd Street SE in Fayette. As we navigate through this period of grief, we are reminded of Andy’s legacy of love and service which will continue to inspire us.

Rest in peace, dear Andy. Your memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
