Andrew Lee Moore, Jr., known by his many friends simply as "Petie," passed away at his home in Benton on Wednesday, May 14, 2022. Petie, 74, was born on Nov. 10, 1946, in Shreveport, to Andrew Lee Sr. "Lee" and Lois Cummings Moore. Petie was graduated from Bossier High School in 1965, where he starred in football and track. In 1969, he was graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, where he continued to participate in football and track. For many years, Petie was a successful businessman in Catahoula, Concordia and LaSalle parishes, owning and operating an Exxon distributorship as well as a number of convenience stores in the area. Petie was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Lois Moore; his first wife and the mother of his children, Pat Barker Moore; and his second wife, Beverly Burrill Moore. He is survived by his son, Mark Moore, of Jonesville; daughters, Kelly Moore, of Baton Rouge, Leslie Moore Cooper and husband Rodney, of St. Francisville; stepchildren, Bo Mahony, of Natchez, Meredith Mahony Meuller and husband Falko, of Houston, and Sarah Stutson Juneau and husband Brandon, of Harrisonburg. He is also survived by step-children, Linsey Moore, Aubrey Cooper, Logan Cooper and Jordyn Cooper as well as grandchildren, Alex Gonzales and Marina Gonzales; and a host of extended family members. Also left to cherish his memory is his very special friend, Joy Barnette; his hunting buddies and his Bossier High and Northwestern families.
